As I sit here in the Midwest with piles of snow and coldest temperatures in years, it’s hard to see global warming as a threat to our survival. However, the United Nations have found 50 scientists who say it’s absolutely happening. They went all around the world in search of the truth and came back with only 50 experts. Global warming is not a fact, but liberals and socialists around the globe say it is and that we caused it. They say it’s because of too much carbon dioxide.

Just say good-bye. I know that it’s a political season. It’s always a political season, for the last 10 years. John Kerry seems to represent those pointy headed, left of the lefts that the old media guys love to hold up as the reason everyone should vote for democrats. That support for Kerry & friends is probably a strong reason that old network news and newspapers are losing their audience.

If it is, then we have a lot of our citizens torturing themselves. When it’s blaring out from the car next to me at a traffic light, should I be suspect of the driver? These bone-heads who are saying that making a terrorist uncomfortable is torture don’t have a clue.

It seems that every birthday she or I have is a time to remember the good parts of our long time on this earth. Yesterday my mother and sister came over to help celebrate. Children and education, both past and present, were one of the discussions. Being an old guy, in most of my classes, I was one more than 40 kids and we all learned to read and write. Teachers seemed to view their careers as a calling, though there were good and bad teachers. Their income was similar to the rest of the community. Today, the class sizes are a fraction of what they were and teachers are paid much more than most Americans. Sadly, fewer children learn to read and write proficiently and many more never graduate.

The Bone-Heads in the House of Representatives voted to make it illegal for you to gamble online. Why? Because we all enjoy it and they can’t figure out how to get a slice of it.

The Congress has quietly voted themselves a raise to $168,500. The House of Representatives stuck it in a bill to fund the Department of Transportation and other agencies, so you probably won’t hear much about it. The median income in the U.S. is $53,692, according to the 2004 U.S. Census figures. How can they represent us if they don’t have to live like us?

I sat down late yesterday afternoon with an adult beverage. My wife opened a can of Planters Mixed Nuts and we kicked back for a little relaxation. As I was sipping and snacking, my wife remarked that there were a lot of peanuts in this mix. I remembered that they used to say what the percentage of peanuts was right on the can.

Earlier this week Dick Durban tried to defend his stupid anti-English stand as a public safety measure. He said that many innocent people will drown in the Potomac if we can't put caution signs in both Spanish and English. Does this guy think that people who don't speak English are so stupid that they will just walk into the river and drown themselves without a Federal Sign?

With the high gas prices, and all the hot air out of our capitol, there isn't much humor today. That is unless you step back and put the rhetoric into perspective. Every once in a while the Washington bone heads lecture us about energy. With about as much clarity as fog, they talk about how future scientific discoveries will be our salvation. In the meantime, we are supposed to car pool, take public transportation or stay home.
