I haven't had anything to say for quite a while. With the primaries in full swing, I need to get something off my chest. All the candidates, from both parties, are putting themselves up as the agents of change. The media-anointed candidates, Hillary, Barack and McCain use the word "change" the most. Isn't it ironic how sitting politicians, collecting the people's money while out campaigning, are saying that they want to change the way Washington works.

They are the reason Washington works the way it does. Mr. McCain, for example, has been in office for years and years. He claims to be the real conservative on the Republican side. From my view, he is not a conservative. He has worked closely with Democrats to move the country farther to the left. His "comprehensive immigration bill" did not contain any conservative components. His "campaign finance" bill took rights away from us. He says he has fought spending his entire career. If so, he has not been very effective. I would like to see him change but I don't want him to change the country, not the way he does his job.

Mrs. Clinton wants to change the country back to the good old days when we stripped our military and intelligence capabilities. Yes, back to a time when a Democrat controlled Congress saw taxes as the answer to everything. Her brand of change looks like it would take us back to the Carter era. She also claims to have the experience to accomplish almost anything. What experience? Is being in the White House the same as being President? If so, then the White House chef is also qualified.

Mr. Obama is an excellent wordsmith. His soothing voice has painted a beautiful portrait of socialist utopia. Though charismatic, he too is styling himself after Jimmy Carter. All of the Democrats seem to think that there is no difference between doing something and just talking about it. His experience in Illinois politics does qualify him to be a Democrat. In fact, all current Illinois politicians are liberals, even the Republicans.

Real change isn't going to come from the people who helped set up the condition that we need to change from. Change comes from us. We have to demand change to get our power back. We can start by voting NO for any politician who is collecting a paycheck from us while campaigning.
