Not Another Election
Submitted by adale on Wed, 2006-10-25 12:32.
The pundits say that President Bush shouldn't mind when Democrats call him names. Then they say he should apologize to Nancy Pelosi for saying he doesn't agree with her point of view. Domocrats, Republicans, Liberals, Conservatives, Moderates and Progressives are all names for the same thing...politician. Every couple of years we have to endure this torture of advertising and rhetoric. Every election the candidates say that the other guy will screw up our lives. This election, all the Democratic candidates have promised to raise taxes, give our money away to non-Americans, and give our constitutional rights to our enemies. The Republicans all seem to agree that Democrats will indeed do that. I think change is good especially in politics. I'm not registered with any party affiliation. I'm generally in favor of voting against the incumbent just to keep them lean and representational. This election though, I am going to vote Republican. I hope you do too. I'm not voting that way because I think Republicans are smarter, I'm voting for lower taxes. I'm not voting for the war in Iraq, I'm voting against the Democrats who think we should just talk to our enemies. I'm voting against socialism which is what the progressives are pushing. I'm voting against arrogance and rudeness. And, if the people I elect don't represent me, I'll vote for the other person next time. »
